The Return

I've taken quite a hiatus from my short introduction to blogging, but I've decided I'm ready to jump back into it! With winter break coming to an end I'm starting to realize that although the time off has been beyond amazing, I'm pretty much ready to go back. Yes, it is true. Instead of feeling no remorse for sleeping until noon and doing nothing productive all day, I do want to go back to the days of sprinting to make it to class on time, freezing on the treks between buildings, navigating the caf "food"- a term I use loosely, living in a glorified closet, sharing a bathroom with too many people and writing papers until the sunrise. I'm sure that a month or so in, I'll look back on this proclamation and kick myself but for now I stand by it.
It is crazy thing to be transplanted back into a small town after living in New York for the past four months. I do have a new-found appreciate for the beauty of my coastal hometown now though. My friends and I have spent countless hours just sitting and watching the sun seemingly plunge into the water. The colors are breathtaking and I think it is crazy that they are organic, with no fancy photoshopping or artificial elements. It is true beauty. And yes, I do realize how horribly cliche and cheesy that sound but I'm going with it.
Well, I think I've reached my quota for ranting in one post. Basically the whole point of this pseudo-novel was to say that I'm using this return to school as a return to this blog as well!

New Era?

The launch of Vogue Turkey made me impossibly happy, although I cannot read the magazine or actually have one in my possession it was a great day for the fashion world. They not only featured a model on the cover, and not some silly celebutante, but got rid of the busy coverlines and focused on the actual fashion.
I feel like magazines have gotten away from the actual clothes and been more focused on the gimmick and how to sell their products. Which is ultimately the goal but hopefully our American magazines will take a note from Turkey and reintroduce simplicity and authenticity. Jessica Stam is impossibly gorgeous on the cover and the whole look makes me want to jet over and buy a copy for myself!

Fade to Blue

(Top- Dots, Leggings- American Apparel, Boots- Wet Seal)

Sorry for the hiatus, its been a crazy few weeks with school! I'm going to try to be a better blogger now though. Today I spent a lazy day breezing around town with my mother, lunch, shopping, self-manicures. What could be better?

My outfit on the other hand, surprised even myself as I was thinking up where all the pieces were from. I've been finding the best gems at the most random stores, ones that cater more towards the "hoochie mama" look than I care to venture on a regular basis. But regardless they do have some cute things and I'm glad I gave the stores a shot as I found this worn-in denim tunic for $3!

Matte Finish

(O.P.I. You Don't Know Jacques Matte)
Ulta has become somewhat of my own personal nirvana since I discovered one about a half an hour away from my house. I made the trek there on Sunday and decided I had to try out one of O.P.I.'s new matte nail polishes. The color is "You Don't Know Jacques" and I put a clear topcoat on the very tips of my nails to make it look a little more fun!

I'm obsessed with the matte finish but my only complaint is that it does take on shine from anything that has moisture, like lotion, which the tag does say to avoid. But I've just been compulsively wiping my nails off and they return to normal.

Tea and Biscuits

(Dress- Jovovich Hawk for Target, Boots- Target, Hat- Vintage, Bracelet- Forever 21)

School has been crazy but I've finally put together my first outfit post. While my life doesn't usually call for chiffon dresses and fur hats, I was invited to a friend's brunch at a local tea house and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to go all out.

And So It Begins...

Hello blogging world, it seems as though I have caved in. As an avid reader of the many fashion blogs out there in cyberspace I have finally decided to create my very own.

Living in a small beach town has not given much help to my obsession of all things glamorous, but i have done my best. However I will soon be leaving for college and a blog seems like the perfect distraction to impending adulthood!
